Section 12 24 00, Window Shades

2.01 Manufacturers

A. Roller Shades:
   1. TriOur Blinds LLC, Contract Roller Shade System (CRS): www.triourblinds.com.
   2. [Other acceptable manufacturers as selected by the Architect.]
   3. Substitutions: See Section 01 6000 - Product Requirements.
B. Provide roller shades by one manufacturer from a single source.

2.02 Roller Shades, Manual

A. Type [A]: Manual single roller, light filtering. Basis of design: TriOur CRS-100.
B. Type [B]: Manual dual roller on a double bracket, light filtering on the room side and blackout on the glass side, each roller operated independently. Basis of design: TriOur CRS-200.
C. Operation: Chain-operated clutch with stainless steel or nickel-plated bead chain, 95 lb rated, with upper and lower limit stops and a chain retainer.
D. Roller Tube: Extruded aluminum, sized by the manufacturer for shade width and fabric weight.
E. Brackets: Allow shade removal and adjustment without removing the brackets.
F. Hembar: Exposed flat extruded aluminum with closed ends.
G. Mounting: [Fascia (-F)] [Recessed ceiling pocket (-P)] [Cassette (-C)], finish [clear anodized] [manufacturer's standard paint color].
H. Side Channels: [Not required.] [Interior side channels for light sealing (-SC) at Type B.]
I. Multi-band shades: Ganged or coupled bands on one operator, with joints on mullion centers (-G).

2.03 Roller Shades, Motorized

A. Type [C]: Motorized single roller. Basis of design: TriOur CRS-300.
B. Type [D]: Motorized dual roller, each roller with its own motor. Basis of design: TriOur CRS-400.
C. Motor: Tubular motor concealed inside the roller tube, with programmable upper and lower limits; [low voltage, 24 V DC (-LV)] [line voltage, 120 V AC (-AC)].
D. Controls: [Wall switch per opening or zone (-W)] [Group and zone control (-Z)] [Interface to building management, AV or lighting control (-I)].

2.04 Shade Fabrics

A. Light Filtering: [Mermet E Screen] [Phifer SheerWeave 2410] [MechoShade ThermoVeil], [3] percent openness, color as selected by the Architect.
B. Blackout: [Mermet Avila Twilight] [Phifer SheerWeave 7000].
C. Fabrics shall comply with NFPA 701 and, where indicated, ASTM G21.

1.09 Warranty

A. Provide manufacturer's warranty from Date of Substantial Completion, registered in the Owner's name:
   1. Shade Hardware: 10 years, excluding drive chains.
   2. Fabric: 10 years.
   3. Motors and Electronic Controls: 5 years.

Already specified another manufacturer?

When a project lists other roller shade manufacturers, we submit a complete substitution request under Section 01 6000 so the Architect can review CRS against the basis of design. Each package includes:

Completed substitution request form in the project’s Section 01 6000 format
Side-by-side comparison against the basis-of-design product
CRS product data sheet and shop drawing details
Fabric manufacturer data with NFPA 701 and ASTM G21 test reports
Sample warranty, registered in the Owner’s name at closeout
Fabric and finish samples, and a mockup if requested
